I have been working for CMCSS since 2000 and have been at New Providence Middle School since 2010. Here at NPMS, I am the 7th-grade school counselor. I graduated from Austin Peay State University in 2000 with my Bachelor's in Special Education, earned my Masters, in School Counseling, in 2008, from the University of West Alabama, and my Ed.S. in Administration, in 2018, from Trevecca University. Working with students is a true pleasure and I am lucky to have a job I love to go to every day. My husband and I have 2 daughters which keep us busy and our lives are filled with family activities. We are both proud Clarksville natives and take pride in serving our community through our work. Please contact me through email or phone call if I can help you in any way.

Ms. Melissa Baker

8th Grade

This year I am the 8th grade school counselor for NPMS! I have been with this group of students since the 6th grade so I am determined to make our last year together another good one! My educational trail includes attending Le Moyne College in Syracuse, NY where I received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. I obtained my Masters of Education in School Counseling from West Chester University in West Chester Pennsylvania. I am a certified in career and college readiness specialist and suicide prevention team lead. I am co-leader in a cultural humility group for the staff at New Providence. As a school counselor, my purpose is to provide social and emotional learning to students, help them achieve their fullest potential in their academics, and be able to help them brainstorm and navigate how to obtain careers after high school/college. I love my career and I wouldn't want to do anything else. I look forward to helping your kids this school year!
